Euripides was an ancient Greek poet and playwright. He was born in 485 BC and lived most of his life in Athens. Very little is known about his life, sicne he lived so long ago and so few records have survived, but he most likely came from a prosperous family. He was married twice, and had three children.
It is believed that he wrote 90 plays; however, only 19 of them have survived to the present day in their complete form.
