Chapter 17 - Citric Acid Cycle - Exercises - Page 586: 19

Answer

Obligate enzymes contain some citric acid enzymes because intermediate of citric acid cycle i.e. oxaloacetate is easily converted into aspartic acid (essential amino acid) through transamination. but not all enzymes do this because end product of citric acid cycle undergoes oxidative phosphorylation in presence of oxygen but anaerobic are oxygen sensitive and die in presence of oxygen.
