Chapter 13: Deep Magic from the Dawn of Time
After making Edmund and the Dwarf walk for a very long time, the Witch decides that they will stop in a valley. Edmund collapses in exhaustion while the Witch and the Dwarf discuss Aslan’s return and what the Witch will do with Edmund. As they talk, a wolf approaches and informs them of Maugrim’s death. The Witch then orders the Dwarf to tie Edmund to a tree. Just as Edmund hears the sound of a knife being sharpened, the rescue party sent by Aslan arrives and frees him. In the commotion, the Witch and the Dwarf seem to disappear. Then, the rescue party brings Edmund back to the Stone Table.
