Set in England during World War II and published in 1950, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of four young siblings who are sent to live with an old professor so they can escape the air raids in London. While living with him, the youngest sibling, Lucy, discovers a magical world--Narnia--by stumbling through a portal in the back of a wardrobe.
