Structure:

Tell students that mazes have had a long history and served sometimes mysterious purposes. Together, read the following article entitled "The Winding History of the Maze" at http://www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/winding-history-maze-180951998/?no-ist. Discuss the various purposes mazes served in various times in history. Also, discuss the general nature of a maze and the feelings one experiences while navigating a maze.
