One recurring theme throughout The Wave is organization. How does Strasser introduce this theme early in the novel?

Refer students to the passage in chapter one during which Ben Ross compares student discipline today compared to when he was a student. He laments the fact that his students are less punctual and concerned with turning in good homework than they were "back in the day," noting that he often receives assignments with lots of mistakes and doodles in the margins. We'll see that his introducing The Wave immediately improves his class's discipline problems and creates a much better-organized machine than what we see in these opening chapters.
